75. 40. 20. Three numbers. One extraordinary chapter in heavy metal history.
2027 marks a unique triple anniversary for Udo Dirkschneider and U.D.O.: Udo turns 75, U.D.O. celebrate 40 years as a band, and "Voodoo Ranger" marks the release of the German heavy metal institution’s 20th studio album. The album will be accompanied by the extensive "Triple Anniversary" Tour 2027 across Europe, while Udo Dirkschneider’s official autobiography will be published in the very same month.
Voodoo Ranger finds U.D.O. as unmistakable as ever - while remaining open to surprises. Powerful riffs, massive hooks and Udo Dirkschneider’s unique voice meet heavier and darker moments as well as two special ballads: first single "I’ll Die Trying" showcases the emotional side of Udo’s unmistakable voice, while closing track "Moving On" sees Peter Baltes take over lead vocals. In between, second single "The Sky Is The Limit" brings the full heavy metal power back.
Written by Udo Dirkschneider, Sven Dirkschneider, Peter Baltes and Fabian "Dee" Dammers, and featuring contributions from new guitarist Alen Brentini, "Voodoo Ranger" combines four decades of heavy metal history with an undiminished determination to keep moving forward. The album was produced and mixed by Martin "Mattes" Pfeiffer, mastered by Stefan Kaufmann, with artwork by Eliran Kantor.
75 years. 40 years of U.D.O. 20 albums. And the metal heart keeps beating.
